On Saturday mornings, Matakana comes alive with its famous Farmers Market, where local growers and makers showcase fresh seasonal produce, homemade jams, baked pies, boutique wines, and handcrafted goods. Take your time wandering between stalls, chatting with friendly vendors, and sampling the region’s flavours. Matakana has also grown in popularity as an emerging wine-producing area, making it a wonderful destination for food and wine lovers.
After browsing the village shops and enjoying lunch in the charming town centre, we continue to the stunning Omaha Beach. Known for its soft white sand and clear blue waters, this coastal gem offers the perfect moment to breathe in the sea breeze, take photos, and relax by the ocean.
Our next stop is a beloved local gelato shop, where you can indulge in velvety, handcrafted ice cream made from premium ingredients — a sweet highlight of the trip.
To finish the day, we visit a peaceful native forest reserve home to towering kauri trees, where you can experience the presence of New Zealand’s ancient giants up close before returning to Auckland.

08:00 – Depart Auckland
09:00 – Matakana Farmers Market & Village Stroll (Free time for lunch)
11:15 – Visit Omaha Beach

12:20 – Parry Kauri Park
13:30 – Arrive back to Auckland

Booking
- A minimum of 2 adults must be attending the tour for the tour to take place.
- Application for a tour must be made by phone, fax or e-mail no later than 5:00 PM of the day before the tour.
- Your application may not be accepted if the tour is full, prior to your booking.
- Hobbiton Movie Set is closed on Christmas Day.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
Cancellations and refunds are based on the working day we receive your request. Please note that requests must must be received before 5 PM ( NZT ) to be processed on that working day.
- Cancellations made more than 72 hours before the tour start time are free of charge.
- Cancellations made between 72 and 48 hours before the tour start time will incur a 50% cancellation fee.
- Cancellations made within 48 hours of the tour start time will be charged the full tour fee.
- If you are not present at the specified pick-up location at the departure time, the tour must depart without you.
- No refunds will be made after travel has commenced.
- Refunds for Paypal payments do not include card fees ( 3% ) as per Paypal terms & conditions.
The above cancellation policy may have exceptions for certain tours, which will be communicated to you at the time of booking.
Tour Costs
- If there are two adults attending the tour, the cost of the tour written is the cost for one person.
- If there are two adults attending the tour, children ( aged 5~11 ) will cost half of what is written.
